Agriculture Ministry reports 64,000 tons of grapes processed in Kakheti as of September 19

The Ministry of Agriculture of Georgia reported a total of 64,000 tonnes of grapes have been processed in the Kakheti region as of September 19. Up to 4,500 winegrowers have delivered their harvest to local wineries.

Among the processed grapes, approximately 29,300 tonnes are of the Saperavi variety, around 28,300 tonnes are Rkatsiteli, with the remaining quantities comprising various other grape varieties.

A total of 425 wine companies and cellars are registered with the Harvest Coordination Headquarters, of which 163 are already actively engaged in the vintage.

The Harvest Coordination Headquarters operates 24 hours a day, with all available resources mobilised to ensure that affected winegrowers can carry out their vintage without any disruption.
