ADB Director Georgia: Rikoti project is exemplary partnership for Georgia’s development and new goals
“The completion of the motorway construction project on the Rikoti Pass is a historic moment for Georgia; this road places Georgia at the epicentre of international trade and develops the economy and commerce, both within the country and beyond its borders,” stated Lesley Bearman Lahm, the Country Director for the Georgia Resident Mission, Asian Development Bank (ADB), at the event dedicated to the completion of the Rikoti road construction.
According to her, this project is the result of a very bold vision.
“This is the result of carefully planned, coordinated work. Georgia is entering an entirely new stage of development, as it has realised its vision of becoming the centre of a more developed and flourishing region, which would have been impossible without collective endeavour and the support of the World Bank and the European Investment Bank. They backed the Government of Georgia.
I wholeheartedly congratulate both local and international partners on this excellent collaboration and coordination. I believe it would be fair to say that this is an exemplary collaboration and partnership for Georgia’s development and new goals.
We have invested over five billion dollars in Georgia. We continue to invest, working alongside the Government of Georgia across both the public and private sectors, in sectoral policy reforms, digitalisation, and economic development,” Leslie Bierman Lahm declared.
