The 86 people were infected with Measles in January in Georgia’s Adjara region. The majority of those infected are children aged 1-5, Zaal Mikeladze, Adjara’s Healthcare Minister reported during a press conference. Adjara’s Healthcare Ministry called on locals to take vaccinations against Measles.
The Ministry reported that 3-5 cases of Measles get registered in the region every year. The last epidemics in the region as well as across the whole Georgia took place in 2013 when 196 cases were registered.
