3,534 people refused to benefit from utility tax subsidies in March

The National Energy and Water Resources Regulatory Commission of Georgia (GNERC) reminds those citizens who, in solidarity, do not want to benefit from the utility tax financing introduced by the government, they can record their refusal on the April and May subsidies on the commission’s website (www.gnerc.org/ge/covid-19). The deadline for canceling utility bills subsidies is May 11, 2020.

The government of Georgia decided to fund utility bills for the next 3 months (March, April, May), Georgian Prime Minister Giorgi Gakharia announced it at the sitting of the Inter-Agency Coordination Council. According to the decision, those who use less than 200 kWh of electricity and 200 cubic meters of natural gas per month, will be funded for the three months.

In March, as a sign of solidarity, 3,534 people refused to benefit from utility tax subsidies.
