UNM Chair: Thousands queue to sign in support of Saakashvili's release, President Zourabichvili must decide on Saakashvili's pardon

“Thousands of citizens are queuing to leave their signatures in support of Saakashvili’s liberation. President Salome Zourabichvili must make a decision and release Mikheil Saakashvili,” said Levan Khabeishvili, Chair of the opposition United National Movement (UNM) party.

According to Levan Khabeishvili, the main opposition leader should be free to ensure an objective and fair environment for the elections.

“It is very important to provide an objective, fair environment for the European development of our country, which means that the main opposition leader should be free. In order for President Saakashvili to be free and Salome Zourabichvili to make the decision, we are collecting 100 thousand signatures, and you see people lining up to sign for Saakashvili’s liberation. I am sure that the Georgian people will win over poverty, Ivanishvili (GD Honorable Chairman) and President Saakashvili will be free,” he said.
