Yuri Biryukov: Simone Semenchenko dragged us into the diplomatic scandal

Ukraine’s president adviser Yuri Biryukov said that among the Ukrainian citizens who were detained in Georgia, was the Supreme Rada deputy and battalion “Donbass” commander Simone Semenchenko.

“I have various contacts. They confirm the information that Semenchenko is in Tbilisi, that Semenchenko has dragged us into the diplomatic scandal, that Semenchenko has framed his people and fled at the last moment.

Tomorrow, the Georgian Foreign Ministry will invite our diplomats. Semenchenko was in Tbilisi with official documents, as a representative of Ukraine’s government, ” – Petro Poroshenko’s adviser wrote on his Facebook page.

Prior to that, Ukrainian journalist Andrei Dzinza wrote that Semenchenko managed to avoid arrest due to a diplomatic passport.

According to the Ministry of Internal Affairs, on December 2, six Ukrainian and one Georgian citizens were arrested as a result of the special operation in two hotels in Tbilisi. They were arrested for purchase and possession of firearms, ammunition and explosive devices.
