Presentation of project for construction of plant producing electric cars to be held on June 20

The industrial holding Aigroup will hold a presentation of the project for the construction of a plant producing electric cars in Kutaisi city of Imereti region on June 20.

Prime Minister Mamuka Bakhtadze will open the presentation. Kakha Guledani, Chairman of Executive Board of Aigroup and Zviad Tsikolia, designer of transport means will give speeches.

The presentation will take place at Davit Aghmashenebeli Square. Representatives of the government, local authorities, Diplomatic Corps and mass media are invited to the presentation.

The plant will be built across 100 hectares of territory till the end of the year. About 300 locals will be employed at the plant, which will produce about 5 thousand electric cars within 18-months term. Four models with the label Made in Georgia will be produced at the plant.

A memorandum about the production of electric cars was signed in May of 2019 by Natia Turnava, Minister of Economy and Sustainable Development, Giorgi Dugladze, Head of National Property Agency and representatives of the Georgian Company Aigroup and Chinese Company Chang’an Automobile.
