PM: Raising autism awareness to be part of building free and equal society

Raising autism awareness is a part of building a free and equal society, Georgian Prime Minister Irakli Garibashvili wrote in the social network.

“The main precondition of such society’s strengths is caring about every citizen’s welfare, development of their capabilities and their full-fledged participation in public life,” PM said.

According to Prime Minister, the government, public and private sector should equally stand by people with autistic spectrum disorders to protect their rights.

World Autism Awareness Day is an internationally recognized day on April 2 every year, encouraging member states of the United Nations to take measures to raise awareness about people with autistic spectrum disorders, including autism and Asperger syndrome, throughout the world.
