More than 800 international observers to monitor snap parliamentary elections in Azerbaijan

On the eve of Sunday’s snap parliamentary election in Azerbaijan, hundreds of local and international observers are set to monitor the casting and counting of ballots.

Azerbaijan last month sent official invitations to many international organizations and institutions to observe the country’s early elections.

Over 65,000 local and more than 800 international observers representing at least 55 countries and 56 organizations have been accredited for monitoring the Milli Majlis, or National Assembly elections.

The number of candidates for deputy has reached 1,317, Azerbaijan’s Central Election Commission announced Friday.
