Mikheil Saakashvili: People to demolish this parliament and power

The Georgian people will get organized and cope with them, the former Georgian President Mikheil Saakashvili responded to the question ‘what would he do if the registration of the National Movement is canceled’. Saakashvili gave an interview to the program Nastoyashee Vremya.

According to the former President, he is going to come back to Georgia, because he is the person who created the statehood of Georgia together with his team. However, when asked if he still wants the presidency, Mikheil Saakashvili responded, “No. I always easily give up any post”, adding that he does not aspire for power in Georgia or Ukraine.

“This does not mean that I refuse to participate in political processes in these countries”, he said.

According to Saakashvili, he sees himself more as a coach, a person who gives advice. He said the opposition received 60% of the vote, while Ivanishvili received 40%, according to a parallel vote count conducted by the international organizations.

“Naturally, the Georgian people disagree with this. Naturally, the opposition is obliged to obey the will of the Georgians. According to the poll, the vast majority of Georgians disagree with the legitimacy of this election. I think the situation is not easy. As it happened in Kyrgyzstan, as it happened in Ukraine, as it happened in Georgia in 2003, as it now is happening in Belarus, this parliament and this government will be overthrown by the people because no one will be able to seize votes like this in the 21st century” he said.

Saakashvili said that the first step was opposition boycotting parliament.

“I know that they offered each opposition representative two to three million dollars to enter parliament. Ivanishvili is an oligarch who has seized not only Georgian authority but the whole country. However, the pressure from society was so strong that everyone refused to get the money”, Saakashvili added.
