Hadron Therapy Center project works launched at KIU

The project works on the Hadron Therapy Center at Kutaisi International University (KIU) have launched. Representatives of the partner companies held a working meeting at the Kutaisi International University on Tuesday.

“Hadron Therapy Center is a unique project that will introduce new cancer treatment methods and save many lives,” Alexander Tevzadze, the Rector of Kutaisi International University (KIU), said after the meeting.

“Hadron Therapy Center will advance Kutaisi to a new level and give it a new development opportunity, attract students, scientists, and researchers,” Nikoloz Chkhetiani, Chairman of the Board of the Cartu Foundation, said.

“Hadron Therapy Center is the biggest challenge in the field of healthcare. It requires compliance with the highly detailed requirements that currently exist in the field,” Pablo Elores, the project director IDOM representative, added.

The world’s leading architectural bureau IDOM (Spain) implements the project in cooperation with the world’s leading provider of proton therapy solutions for cancer treatment IBA (Belgium). The center will engage in modern medicine and physics research besides the treatment of oncological diseases.

The first patient treatment is scheduled for 2024. The International Charity Fund Cartu funds the project.
