The Green Climate Fund has allocated a € 33 million to Georgia to support forest sector reform and to reduce GHG emissions.
The project envisages active involvement of local self-governments and the population in seven municipalities of Kakheti, Guria and Tianeti.
The presentation of the project funded by the Green Climate Fund was opened by the Minister of Environment and Agriculture, Levan Davitashvili.
Along with the local self-governments, the ambassadors of Germany and Switzerland to Georgia also attended the event.
The seven-year project will start in March 2021 and end in December 2027.
