Georgian sailor detained in Libya released

Soslan Kakabadze, the citizen of Georgia who was detained in Libya, was released from the court trial in the city of Tripoli, Libya. Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Georgia released the regarding information.

According to Ministry, Georgia’s Ambassador to Egypt Aleksandre Nalbandov is in Libya. The Ambassador has met with the detained Georgian sailors and he is holding negotiations with representatives of the Libyan Foreign Ministry.

Soslan Kakabadze started working at the vessel, sailing under the flag of Togo in 2015. After 12 days, the crew of vessel was detained in Libya. As Kakabadze’s family members say, the vessel  was detained on the charge of attempt to shift the illegal oil.
