Georgia reports 794 coronavirus cases, 498 recoveries, 22 deaths

Georgia reported 794 coronavirus cases, 498 recoveries, and 22 deaths on Saturday, the official figures show.

Georgian capital Tbilisi recorded the highest number of 452 Covid-19 cases within the last 24 hours, followed by the Imereti region with 82 cases, and the Adjara region with 56 cases.

A total of 40 667 tests have been conducted in the past 24 hours throughout the country. Among them, 24 242 tests were rapid tests, while the remaining 16 425 were PCR tests.

The daily test-positivity rate stands at 1, 95 %, while 2, 64 % in the past 14 days. As of June 12, 202 314 people got the coronavirus vaccine.

Georgia’s total case tally reached 353 443 among them, 338 318 people recovered and 5 034 died.

There are 47 people placed in government-assigned quarantine facilities, 3 147 Covid-19 patients are hospitalized, 610 asymptomatic, and mild symptom patients are being treated at government-assigned treatment facilities.
