Georgia reports 616 coronavirus cases, 268 recoveries, 5 deaths

Georgia reported 616 coronavirus cases, 268 recoveries, and five deaths on Wednesday, the official figures show.

31,947 tests have been conducted in the past 24 hours throughout the country. Among them, 20,364 tests were rapid tests, while the remaining 11,583 were PCR tests.

Georgian capital Tbilisi recorded the highest number of 319 Covid-19 cases within the last 24 hours, followed by the Samegrelo-Zemo Svaneti region with 61 cases and the Imereti region with 58 cases.

Georgia’s total case tally reached 281,761, among them, 273,167 people recovered and 3,778 died.

The daily test-positivity rate stands at 1,93 %, while 1.74% in the past 14 days.

There are 270 people placed in government-assigned quarantine facilities, 1,674 Covid-19 patients are hospitalized, 261 asymptomatic, and mild symptom patients are being treated at government-assigned treatment facilities.

Currently, out of 331 critical patients, 65 require mechanical ventilation.
