Georgia reported 3,436 coronavirus cases, 1,805 recoveries, and 32 deaths on January 5, the official figures show.
40,377 tests have been conducted in the past 24 hours throughout the country. Among them, 23,696 tests were rapid tests, while the remaining 16,681 were PCR tests.
Georgian capital Tbilisi recorded the highest number of 1,676 Covid-19 cases within the last 24 hours, followed by the Imereti region with 407 cases and the Adjara region with 360 cases.
The daily test-positivity rate stands at 8,51%, while 6,84% in the past week.
Georgia’s total case tally reached 945,609 among them, 906,708 people recovered and 14,041 died.
There are 48 people placed in government-assigned quarantine facilities, 4,353 Covid-19 patients are hospitalized, 921 asymptomatic, and mild symptom patients are being treated at government-assigned treatment facilities.
Currently, out of 1,115 critical patients, 264 require mechanical ventilation.
As of today, 2,528,030 people got the coronavirus vaccine, with 7,191 in a day.
