Georgia reports 1 698 coronavirus cases, 1 910 recoveries, 38 deaths

Georgia reported 1 698 coronavirus cases, 1 910 recoveries, and 38 deaths on Friday, the official figures show.

Georgian capital Tbilisi recorded the highest number of 518 Covid-19 cases within the last 24 hours, followed by the Imereti region with 325 cases, and the Kakheti region with 250 cases.

A total of 25 692 tests have been conducted in the past 24 hours throughout the country. Among them, 15 310 tests were rapid tests, while the remaining 10 382 were PCR tests.

The daily test-positivity rate stands at 6, 61 %, while 6, 85 % in the past 14 days.

Georgia’s total case tally reached 603 763, among them 572 353 people recovered and 8 749 died.

There are 48 people quarantined, 4 810 Covid-19 patients are hospitalized, 964 asymptomatic, and mild symptom patients are placed at the government-assigned facilities.

As of September 24, 1 715 073 people got the Covid-19 vaccine.
