Georgia reports 1,653 coronavirus cases, 466 recoveries, 13 deaths

Georgia reported 1,653 coronavirus cases, 466 recoveries, and 13 deaths on Friday, the official figures show.

Georgian capital Tbilisi recorded the highest number of 980 Covid-19 cases within the last 24 hours, followed by the Imereti region with 155 cases, and the Adjara region with 118 cases.

A total of 34,800 tests have been conducted in the past 24 hours throughout the country. Among them, 18,765 tests were rapid tests, while the remaining 16,035 were PCR tests.

The daily test-positivity rate stands at 4,75%, while 4,31% in the past 14 days.

Georgia’s total case tally reached 384,387, among them, 362,957 people recovered and 5,516 died.

There are 52 people placed in government-assigned quarantine facilities, 4,001 Covid-19 patients are hospitalized, 1,016 asymptomatic, and mild symptom patients are being treated at government-assigned treatment facilities.

As of July 16, 334,199 people got the coronavirus vaccine.
