Fourth Georgia-EU strategic dialog meeting in Brussels

The fourth Georgia-EU strategic dialog meeting on security issues was held in Brussels, Belgium.

Both sides reconfirmed unwavering wish and interest to intensity cooperation in foreign policy and security affairs as per the Association Agreement.

The meeting participants considered the current situation in occupied Abkhazia and Tskhinvali regions, Russian aggressive moves and non-fulfillment of the August 12, 2008 EU-brokered truce agreement.

The sides accentuated the need of full implementation of the EU Monitoring Mission mandate. The EU reiterated support to Georgia’s territorial integrity and sovereignty within its internationally recognized borders.

The meeting also discussed regional security challenges and prospects to enhance cooperation in defense and security spheres.
