For the ethnic minorities, various subjects have been added to the lesson timetable of the education project – Teleschool (Teleskola).

The added subjects – Maths, Environmental Studies, Biology and Azeri and Armenian languages as a first language – will be conducted from April 13.

The Ministry of Education has noted that TV lessons will be designed for students of all grades. At the same time, it is important that general skills’ lessons will be conducted for entrants as well.

Teleschool (Teleskola) is being aired via Second Channel of Georgian Public Broadcaster.

The Ministry of Education, Science, Culture and Sports of Georgia, Georgian First Channel and TSU Media and TV Art Community College have jointly implemented TV lessons for ethnic minorities.

The Ministry added that “the Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development – OECD, has published a framework document outlining Georgia as one of the best countries in the world for overcoming the challenges posed by the Coronavirus outbreak.  A particular emphasis is placed on the implementation of Teleskola – a joint project undertaken by the Ministry together with the First Channel of Georgia.”
