The firefighters continue to battle with the field fires across Georgia, the Emergency Situations Management Service of the Ministry of Internal Affairs (MIA) reported on Wednesday.
The Agency received 243 calls about forest and field fires in the past 48 hours. Among them, 232 extinguished. Firefighters are trying to put out eleven field fires for now.
The Emergency Management Service urges citizens to refrain from burning grass in the fields and arable lands as it may cause fire spread to residential houses and forests.
Strong winds impede firefighters to extinguish the fire so far.
If needed, the MIA Border Police helicopter will involve in the fire extinguishing process, the Agency added.
