Deputy Minister of MIA: Water cannons were used against those protestants who exercised violence against police officers, attempted to break into CEC building

The First Deputy Minister of Internal Affairs Kakha Sabanadze said: “targeted use of water cannon against media representatives has not been conducted in front of the Central Election Commission building yesterday.”

“The water cannon was used in the direction of the threat to public order and safety. Determining where the media representative were located was difficult in the process of managing the rally events, however, targeted use of water cannon has not been conducted. Only water cannons were used against those protestants who exercised violence against police officers and attempted to break into the CEC building. We applied proportional force,” stated Kakha Sabanadze.
