Defense and Security Group of Georgia-US Strategic Partnership Charter to hold meeting

The Defense and Security Group of Georgia-US Strategic Partnership Charter will hold a working meeting in Washington today.

Georgian First Deputy Foreign Minister Vakhtang Makharoblishvili and Deputy Defense Minister Lela Chikovani will head the meeting. Representatives of the Georgian executive and legislative authorities will take part in the meeting.

Joel Starr, Deputy Assistant Secretary of State for Regional Security in the Bureau of Political-Military Affairs and Laura Cooper, Deputy Assistant Secretary of Defense for Russia, Ukraine, and Eurasia will represent the U.S. side.

The sides will discuss carried out and ongoing reforms in defence and security spheres in Georgia, future cooperation priorities, progress reached with respect to Euro-Atlantic structures, cybersecurity and current situation across the occupied regions of Georgia.
