Chairman of Georgian Dream Party visits Tamari Fortress in Abastumani

Bidzina Ivanishvili, Chairman of Georgian Dream-Democratic Georgia Party visited Tamari Fortress in Abastumani, a town and climatic spa in Adigeni Municipality, Samtskhe-Javakheti region of Georgia.

Mitropolit Teodore of Akhaltsikhe and Tao-Klarjeti accompanied Chairman of Georgian Dream Party. The information about the visit was posted in the social network.

Ivanishvili said that construction of a bypass road ongoing in Kurtskhana Gorge would ‘add more life’ to Abastumani.

Tamari Fortress is located on a mount and is dated to the 9-11th centuries. Historians presume that Kind Tamar’s residence was located in the fortress.
