24th victim of COVID-19 suffered from underlying disease

A 70-year-old man, who died of coronavirus today, had an underlying disease, said Marina Endeladze, the director of the boxed ward of the Infectious Diseases Hospital.

Endeladze noted that the patient was hospitalised on August 18. After medical treatment, he tested negative for coronavirus, but because of acute underlying disease, doctors could not manage to save his life.

A 24th patient has died of COVID-19 in Georgia today.

In addition, 227 new cases of coronavirus and 69 recoveries have been reported today.

Georgia’s COVID-19 cases reached 4 140. The number of cured patients stands at 1 643.

Currently, 5 390 people are under quarantine and 836 more under medical observation.
