Winter wheels law enacts from January 1

The law on driving with snow wheels/winter tires will be enacted from January 1, 2024.

The law drafted by the Ministry of Internal Affairs (MIA) and endorsed by the parliament, aims to ensure traffic movement safety.

The law obliges drivers to follow the law from December 1 to March 1 at certain road sections. In case of violation, a driver will be fined by 100 GEL and a reduction of 5 points on a driving license.
