Starting today, travelling by car and operating taxis, online trade (wholesale and retail), delivery services on any type of product, and the operation of open agrarian markets will be permitted, Prime Minister’s Spokesman Irakli Chikovani said at today’s briefing at Government Administration.

The Prime Minister’s spokesman explained that the aforementioned restrictions will be lifted throughout the entire country, with the exception of the municipalities and administrative units that have been placed under strict quarantine.

“As it is known, the government has developed a plan that envisages the gradual lifting of the imposed restrictions, which was presented by the prime minister on Friday; The aforementioned restrictions will be lifted throughout the entire country, with the exception of the municipalities and administrative units that have been placed under strict quarantine,” Irakli Chikovani stated.

PM’s adviser noted that, as an exception, on 27 and 28 April with the purpose of returning to one’s actual place of residence, leaving or entering Tbilisi, Rustavi, Batumi, or Kutaisi will be permitted.

“I would like to emphasize that this is possible only in order to return to one’s actual place of residence. At this point, it should also be noted that entering or leaving these cities with the aim of returning to one’s registered legal address is possible at any time, according to the regulations in force at the moment. All other restrictions in place under the state of emergency remain in force. This includes the curfew, which remains in force from 21:00 to 06:00,” Chikovani stressed.

In addition, Irakli Chikovani said that “based on the analysis of the epidemiological situation, it is possible that the lifted restrictions may be re-imposed, and the timeline of each subsequent stage coming into force may be revised.”
