Vice Speaker Nino Tsilosani: Mamuka Mdinaradze’s exit from politics is regrettable

“For me, as a friend and comrade-in-arms, Mamuka Mdinaradze’s departure from politics was deeply regrettable, but we respect his decision. I wish him every success; his exit from politics will prove a great loss,” stated Vice-Speaker of Parliament Nino Tsilosani.

Tsilosani emphasised that Mdinaradze has accomplished a great deal for the party.

“The fact that the government structure was undergoing specific modifications tailored to the Mamuka Mdinaradze factor was confirmed by the Prime Minister himself, who made clear that those plans were tied directly to his figure, experience, and competence. It is therefore hardly surprising that following his departure from politics and resignation from office, these institutional changes will no longer continue.

I welcome the re-merger of the ministries, as the combined Ministry of Infrastructure and Regional Development operated far more effectively. The period following their separation demonstrated that efficiency did not improve; thus, the Prime Minister’s decision to reunite the portfolios aims to create a more agile system.

The scope of coordination across various spheres, whether law enforcement or regional development, was of such a scale that the Prime Minister originally designated the post specifically for Mamuka Mdinaradze. Following his exit, a figure of that stature to oversee such coordination is not being contemplated at this stage. Moving forward, each minister will execute their assigned responsibilities within the remit of their respective department,” Tsilosani added.
