US Ambassador: USAID Program face of US assistance to Georgia

“USAID program created 6,000 new jobs. It provided help to over 100,000 Georgians in increasing their incomes and it did strengthen Georgia’s agricultural sector,” said US Ambassador to Georgia, Robin Dunnigan at the event organized by the USAID Agriculture Program.

“I am so pleased to be here today to join the Georgian government, our partners in the Georgian agricultural sector, to celebrate the close of a very successful USAID program here in Georgia. This five-year $27 million program was very impactful on the Georgian agricultural sector. I just want to say that we talk a lot about the U.S. partnership with Georgia. For 32 years, we have given $6 billion to Georgia, and this program is, is really the face of that assistance.

This program created 6,000 new jobs. It provided help to over 100,000 Georgians in increasing their incomes and really did strengthen Georgia’s agricultural sector. So it’s a real, real pleasure to be here to celebrate a successful program,” she said.
