UNM's Samadashvili states failure of compromise agreement signed today to be in Russia's interests

“The only country, Russia, was interested in the failure of the agreement signed today,” Salome Samadashvili, a member of the United National Movement, said.

She believes the United National Movement made a tactical mistake when refused to sign Charles Michel’s compromise document.

“I know for sure that the only country, Russia, was interested in the failure of the agreement, which was signed today. I apologize very much, but I can not share anyone’s views, including Mikheil Saakashvili’s position on an unequivocal signature or non-signature. I think the party made a tactical mistake. Although I have said it many times, we could not delay the decision any longer,” Samadashvili said.

The United National Movement, European Georgia and the Labor Party did not sign the compromise document prepared by the European Council President Charles Michel.

The other Georgian political parties signed A way ahead for Georgia, a compromise document submitted to the parties by the European Council President Charles Michel, at the Orbeliani Palace on April 19.
