UNM's Pavlenishvili affirms party’s unwavering stance on local elections

“We hold a clear and unwavering position on the upcoming local elections: nothing will make us change it unless there is systemic dismantling and the fulfilment of our demands,” stated Irakli Pavlenishvili, a member of the United National Movement (UNM).

According to Pavlenishvili, the number of political prisoners is rising, the free media are under increasing pressure, and participating in any elections effectively transforms one into a systemic opposition.

“We maintain ongoing communication with our partners, including the Lelo party. I sincerely hope that Lelo would prioritize Georgia’s interests rather than oppose them. We hope that they will reject participation in what Ivanishvili calls elections. The decision is theirs to make, but I remain hopeful they will act in the best interests of the Georgian people and Georgia,” he emphasized.
