UNM’s Parulava: We’ve never refused debates; ready to expose corruption, return requires action, not just words

“The full restoration of political debates requires not statements but concrete steps, the release of political prisoners and opponents, and an end to repression and terror,” Lasha Parulava, member of the United National Movement, has stated.

Parulava added that “the party is ready to discuss Georgian Dream’s corruption and high prices.”

“Do they want debates? We will participate in debates and expose them in their activities, in specific crimes. We’ve never refused debates. If anyone has refused debates and democracy, it’s the Georgian Dream. Our leaders are in prison. Political leaders are effectively in captivity on absurd charges. Meanwhile, we see that JD Vance is visiting Armenia and Azerbaijan but not Georgia. The State Department issued his quote regarding Georgia, stating that a democratic mandate is not obtained by persecuting opponents and throwing them in prison. Accordingly, we must reject terror, repression, and political prisoners.

Of course, we have never refused debates. We’re ready to expose their corruption, their crimes, and the high prices on products; we’ll expose them in these activities with specific evidence,” Lasha Parulava declared.

Prime Minister Irakli Kobakhidze has stated that the Georgian people must be allowed to publicly hear the positions of all groups vying for power, to make an informed choice.

“We are obliged to restore the people’s right to benefit from debates and not allow informal forces and their ‘Georgian’ agents to impose their own agenda upon us,” Irakli Kobakhidze declared.
