UNM's Parulava: GD attempts to cover up its systemic corruption with shadows of past

“Everyone understands perfectly well that Georgian Dream’s systemic corruption cannot be covered up, and terror cannot replace truth. This is a fact, and neither Irakli Kobakhidze nor Mamuka Mdinaradze can escape it,” United National Movement member Lasha Parulava has stated.

According to him, Georgian Dream is attempting to cover up systemic corruption.

“Georgian Dream is trying to cover up its own systemic corruption with shadows of the past. Yes, there is systemic corruption, stipends stolen from little children in Tbilisi kindergartens, corrupt verticals have been confirmed, and they’re trying to pull off this trick to cover it up. Meanwhile, they’re blackmailing a husband with his wife, and thereby directly stating their message: zero tolerance. This is no longer a political struggle, nor is it justice. This is Soviet red terror and its direct restoration.

However, everyone understands perfectly well that Georgian Dream’s systemic corruption cannot be covered up by this, and terror cannot replace truth. This is a fact, and neither Irakli Kobakhidze nor Mamuka Mdinaradze can escape it. Such investigations would be good if they were conducted into the chemical poisoning scandal, into stipends stolen from little children in Tbilisi kindergartens, and into the corrupt vertical. We have been discussing this for years, so the shadows of the past no longer concern us. At this moment, our focus is on corruption and whether corrupt governance will come to an end in this country.

Three months later, they announced zero tolerance, and on December 25, they cynically staged terror. What we saw yesterday was a demonstration of this terror, blackmailing the husband with his wife. Truth will triumph nevertheless, and all the corrupt will be punished. It’s a farce and lies when, three months later, they themselves exposed the corruption of their own State Security Service chief. They have problems within their team; this is an attempt at a cover-up. The present and future cannot be covered up with shadows of the past,” Parulava stated.
