UNM's Parulava: ECHR to legally assess if 2024 elections were Russian special operation, GD should fear outcome

“That October 26, 2024, was not an election but a Russian special operation, the international community has already evaluated it on a political level, and now Europe will assess it legally,” said Lasha Parulava, a member of the United National Movement.

He believes the European Court will deliver an objective decision, and that the Georgian Dream should be wary of this.

“There is clear evidence of an experiment conducted in Tetritskaro, which proved that the constitutional principle of secrecy was violated. This principle and the experiment were manipulated and falsified by Murusidze and Chinchaladze in the Court of Appeal. Naturally, the European Court will consider this and make an impartial ruling. If anyone should be afraid of a fair and objective decision today, it is the Georgian Dream’.

In general, the European Court’s decision will be based on the legal substantiation of the plaintiff’s position, whether true or not. We do not doubt that the Georgian Dream falsified theOctober 26, 2024, elections. Clearly, the legal ruling by Murusidze and Chinchaladze will not only lack support in the European Court but will also be met with an appropriate response, and their crime will be recognised and named. The elections took place two years ago, and now the European Court is reviewing the case to determine whether the experiment in Tetritskaro was objective and whether the proceedings in the appellate court were a farce. The Court’s decision on this matter will serve as a damning sword over the heads of the Georgian Dream and Ivanishvili,” Parulava asserted.

The Georgian Young Lawyers’ Association (GYLA) stated today that the Strasbourg Court commenced examination of complaints submitted concerning the 2024 parliamentary elections.
