UNM’s Lasha Parulava: Georgian Dream peddling false dilemma; Western partners are sole guarantors of Georgia’s security and reunification

“Georgian Dream’s deceit knows no bounds. They are trying to force a false dilemma upon the public, alleging that someone is demanding we surrender Abkhazia and our lands,” stated United National Movement (UNM) member Lasha Parulava.

Parulava was asked to respond to recent remarks by Speaker of the Parliament Shalva Papuashvili, who claimed that “Gvaramia is echoing a campaign message implying the handover of Abkhazia and the Tskhinvali region to Russia,” and that “everyone must remember EU membership holds no value for Georgia without Abkhazia and Tskhinvali.”

In response, Parulava stressed that Papuashvili’s narrative amounts to a total distortion of reality.

“Far from ceding our territory, our historical lands, the graves of our ancestors, and our sacred heritage, it remains our solemn duty to our history and our country to reclaim them and restore Georgia’s unity.

If anyone stands as the true guarantor of Georgia’s security, freedom, and national reunification, it is our Western partners, who consistently uphold Georgia’s territorial integrity, sovereignty, and internationally recognised borders,” Parulava concluded.
