UNM’s Irakli Pavlenishvili: Ahali assumes attacking us makes them the main opposition force

“Members of the United National Movement simply stated the bare facts, which was met with such resentment that they have not ceased their attacks on Mikheil Saakashvili and our party. We do not intend to dwell endlessly on this topic as we have numerous issues on our agenda; however, if these attacks persist, we will respond,” stated UNM member Irakli Pavlenishvili.

According to Pavlenishvili, the Ahali party mistakenly believes that relentlessly attacking the United National Movement will elevate them to the primary opposition force; a position he described as deeply flawed both morally and politically.

“The United National Movement and Mikheil Saakashvili represent the most uncompromising fighters against the Ivanishvili regime. Within our party, there is a firm, unequivocal stance: an individual linked to the financial schemes of the Ivanishvili regime cannot simply emerge on the eve of an election, spend unchecked sums of money, and ultimately do so without Ivanishvili’s green light. Splintering the opposition and fueling the weakening of the United National Movement has always served Ivanishvili’s interests,” Pavlenishvili declared.
