UNM’s Gia Baramidze: GD prosecution opened case against me; I am not afraid, my conscience is clear before homeland, God, and myself

“The Georgian Dream prosecution has opened a case against me for ‘treason against Georgia’. I neither fear your persecution nor, even less so, your dirty propaganda,” United National Movement member Gia Baramidze wrote on social media.

According to Baramidze, his conscience has always been clear before his homeland, God, and himself.

“You traitorous Russian-puppets and political jackals! I spit on anyone who says they’ve done more for Georgia than me! This puppet prosecution has slapped me with a case for ‘betraying Georgia’! I am not afraid of your persecution, let alone your filthy propaganda! I have always stood true before my country, God, and my conscience, and no one will ever take that away from me,” wrote Gia Baramidze.

For context, Gia Baramidze previously stated: “During the war in Abkhazia, Georgian military personnel executed prisoners, which is why the Abkhaz side refused to hand captives over.”

Regarding these statements made by United National Movement member Gia Baramidze, the General Prosecutor’s Office of Georgia has launched a criminal investigation into allegations of high treason and sabotage.
