UNM's Bokuchava: We know how to protect national values, including faith that defines Georgians' way of life

“We certainly do not have to learn from traitorous, criminal, corrupt pro-Russian GD, who are far removed from any national values, how to protect Georgia’s national dignity and values, including that Christian faith,” stated Tina Bokuchava, Chair of the United National Movement opposition party.

Bokuchava commented on the European Union Court of Justice ruling that “EU countries must recognise same-sex marriages legally performed in other member states.”

“This concerns EU member states, and in today’s situation, Georgia has no prospect whatsoever of becoming an EU member. At the same time, it must be said that any statement about family values from Kakha Kaladze and other representatives of their team should embarrass them.

When Ivanishvili’s pro-Russian GD regime, under which Georgia will not only fail to become an EU member but will be unable to take even one step in the European integration process, ends, Georgia will open negotiations with the European Union. We will engage in negotiations with the EU, taking into consideration our citizens, national identity, and core values.

We certainly do not have to learn from traitorous, criminal, corrupt pro-Russian GD, who are far removed from any national values, how to protect Georgia’s national dignity and values, including that Christian faith and value which defines the way of life of many Georgian citizens. The pro-Russian GD are certainly not in a position to lecture anyone about such matters,” Tina Bokuchava stated.
