UNM’s Ana Tsitlidze urges ex-president Zourabichvili to stop mentoring over October 4 events
“Something unforeseen happened on Atoneli Street, something only the organizers should speak about,” said Ana Tsitlidze, a member of the United National Movement (UNM) party.
Ana Tsitlidze was asked to comment on the statement of ex-president Salome Zourabichvili, who said, “Fencing was weakened in advance; some part of the opposition was likely used for an unfolded scenario.” A reporter asked if Zourabichvili meant the UNM in her statement.
According to Tsitlidze, accusations against the opposition are groundless.
“Let everyone abandon conspiracy theories. I was there, and I never concealed that. Marching toward Atoneli [Presidential Palace] was part of the plan, but what happened there was not planned.
Once again, I repeat that Salome Zourabichvili should stop mentoring. We have people in jails as a result of the Russian regime’s retribution, including those charged with an attempt to attack the Atoneli Presidential Palace. If they need to make a specific clarification, I am sure they will explain when they deem it necessary. Making statements by some opposition politicians is merely hopeless, baseless mentoring,” she said.
