UNM MP: World rediscovered Georgia

Khatia Dekanoidze, MP of the opposition United National Movement (UNM) party said that the withdrawal of the People’s Power-tabled Transparency of Foreign Influence bill is ascribed to the unity of Georgian society and youth.

Dekanoidze told the GPB’s First Channel that today, the world rediscovered Georgia.

“This is the merit of youngsters and their protest, those who did not fear dispersal, poisoning, teargas, and the merit of Georgian society – all. The Georgian society took a significant step: the world rediscovered Georgia. Georgia is back on the international agenda as being the European community. Despite the attempts of the Georgian Dream, Georgia will not return to Russia, and this was the message of the Georgian youth,” she said.

With the voting held on March 10, the Georgian parliament officially withdrew the People’s Power-tabled Transparency of Foreign Influence bill.
