UNM member speaks of opposition unity

A member of the United National Movement (UNM), Levan Bezhashvili believes that the opposition should keep unity when the ruling party disintegrates.

Levan Bezhashvili echoed Khatia Dekanoidze’s quitting the party. He said differences in opinions always existed within the party but the boycott could not serve as the reason to leave it.

“Be it Khatia Dekanoidze or other leaders, it is important for the opposition to keep unity at this stage when the Georgian Dream disintegrates and MPs leave the ruling team. We should seek unification means. Only this way, we will be able to defeat the Georgian Dream,” he said.

On March 23, UNM’s Khatia Dekanoidze told journalist Inga Grigolia in a talk show on TV Pirveli that she decided to quit the UNM party and faction in the parliament.
