The payment of Nika Melia’s bail by the European Union will be a ransom for a political prisoner by the civilized world, Giorgi Botkovel, a member of the United National Movement (UNM), told reporters after visiting UNM Chairman prison.
Botkoveli confirmed that Nika Melia did not change his approach to the amnesty bill.
“Every day that Nika Melia spends behind bars creates an additional problem for the Georgian Dream and, unfortunately, for the state as well. Melia accepted the European Union to pay his bail, but it would rather be the ransom for a political prisoner by the civilized world. I’m sure it will happen soon, and Nika Melia will be released,” Botkoveli said.
UNM member reiterated that Nika Melia disregards the amnesty bill. He added the incomprehensible articles and the approach to release the executioners of the rally disperse alongside Melia are unacceptable for both UNM Chair and his party.
