UNM leaders meet U.S. Congressman Jim Bird

The Chairperson of the United National Movement (UNM), Tina Bokuchava, and the party’s Secretary General, Petre Tsiskarishvili, met with U.S. Congressman Jim Bird during their visit to Washington.

The UNM leaders expressed their gratitude to Congressman Bird for supporting the bipartisan MEGOBARI Act. They remarked that the passage of this legislation “offered new hope to Georgia’s democratic forces by sending a strong, bipartisan signal of the United States’ unwavering support for the Georgian people.”

During the meeting, the UNM representatives presented Congressman Bird with a comprehensive report on China’s economic and imperialist influences in Georgia.

They emphasised that “Bidzina Ivanishvili’s regime is paving the way for Beijing’s political and economic pressure, threatening to turn Georgia into a colony that endangers our sovereignty and Euro-Atlantic future.”

Tina Bokuchava highlighted the Congressman’s significant role on the intelligence subcommittee and stressed that his “steadfast support and positive attitude toward Georgia have been crucial for the country’s democratic future.”
