UNM Chair: Ivanishvili’s Russian regime sentences Saakashvili to 9 years for his 9 years of leadership
“Ivanishvili’s Russian regime has recently sentenced President Saakashvili to 9 years in jail in the so-called Suits Case for 9 years of leadership and building the country,” said Tina Bokuchava, Chair of the United National Movement (UNM) party.
Tina Bokuchava believes that the court will also impose the highest punishment measure in the case of Saakashvili’s illegal crossing of the state border.
“The second decision will be announced on Monday, and of course, the court will impose the highest punishment measure against President Mikheil Saakashvili for his not surrendering the Georgian statehood in 2008. He shaped the example of the modern Georgian state not only for our country but for Putin’s Russia, which was the biggest threat for him both for the neighbourhood and internal policy, and this is the accusation with which Ivanishvili pleases Russia and keeps Mikheil Saakashvili in unlawful imprisonment for already 4 years,” she said.
