UNM Chair: House in Kaspi besieged during meeting with pensioners
‘Russian Party’ members disturbed our meeting with pensioners in Kaspi, said Levan Khabeishvili, Chairman of the United National Movement party on Friday.
According to him, the meeting, held at the house of a UNM party member, aimed to discuss the importance of reducing the retirement age for men to under 60 and increasing the minimum pension to 400 GEL.
Khabeishvili stated that the house came under siege, with attackers throwing stones and damaging UNM vehicles.
He reiterated that the party would continue organizing similar meetings in various regions of Georgia.
Khabeishvili also noted that the attackers were individuals employed in local structures.
“The delayed response from the police, who took three hours to arrive, indicates their involvement in organizing the incident. As these individuals are civil servants, they will be held accountable for their actions,” he added.
Incident took place during a UNM-organized meeting in Kaspi this afternoon.
