Unity-National Movement: Western partners value Georgian people's fight for European future

“Western partners value Georgian people’s fight for their European future and the EU’s decision on imposition of sanctions confirms that. The US is preparing sanctions, which will affect Ivanishvili’s family members, affiliated businesspersons and governmental officials,” said Levan Bezhashvili, one of the leaders of the Unity-National Movement coalition.

According to Bezhashvili, the West, Europe, and the US stand with the Georgian people and are in solidarity with their fight.

“Western partners value Georgian people’s fight for their European future. We heard the EU decision that MPs, government members, and public officials, who hold diplomatic and business passports will be sanctioned. The US is preparing a package of sanctions, which will affect Bidzina Ivanishvili’s family members, affiliated businesspersons and governmental officials and this will be another confirmation that the West, Europe, and the US stand with the Georgian people and are in solidarity with their fight,” he said.

The European Council decided to suspend visa-free travel for holders of Georgian diplomatic passports, following discussions at a meeting of EU Foreign Ministers in Brussels on Monday, Kaja Kallas, the EU High Representative for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy, said.
