Unity-National Movement member: Georgian citizens define opposition’s action strategy
“Georgian citizens define and dictate the opposition’s action strategy,” stated Paata Manjgaladze, a member of the Unity-National Movement union.
Manjgaladze emphasized that the Georgian Dream (GD) party and Bidzina Ivanishvili failed to address the interests of the majority of Georgian citizens.
“All captives of Ivanishvili’s regime must be released immediately, and new elections must be scheduled. Discussions regarding any document are important, but if the regime does not recognize that its fight against its citizens is a crime, we will not cease our protests,” he asserted.
Regarding the opposition’s action plan, Manjgaladze noted that Georgian citizens have been rallying in the streets for over 50 days, asserting that the opposition acts on their directive.
“They demand the release of those who stood with us and were unlawfully imprisoned by the regime. That is why they are in the streets, demanding new elections — because Ivanishvili does not represent the interests of the majority of Georgian citizens,” he concluded.
