UN General Assembly passes resolution supporting peace in Ukraine, backed by Georgia
The UN General Assembly has adopted a resolution titled “Support for Lasting Peace in Ukraine”. The text reaffirms the Assembly’s unwavering commitment to Ukraine’s sovereignty and territorial integrity.
The resolution urges Russia to immediately cease fire, respect Ukraine’s borders, exchange prisoners of war, and release all unlawfully detained individuals.
Supported by 107 countries, including Georgia, the resolution saw 51 abstentions, notably from the United States, China, and Hungary.
