Two Georgian citizens illegally detained by the Russian occupation forces near Gremiskhevi village of Dusheti municipality in the vicinity of the occupied Tskhinvali region on December 29 were released, the State Security Service of Georgia (SSG) reported.
According to the SSG, the central Georgian government activated a hotline and all other available mechanisms to ensure their unconditional release straight after the illegal detention. The Geneva International Discussions (GID) co-chairs were notified about the fact.
“Russian occupation forces are fully responsible for the destructive actions in the occupied regions and along the occupation line,” the SSG said in a statement.
