The illegal borderization carried out in the vicinity of Okona village of the Kareli Municipality and Gremiskhevi village of the Dusheti Municipality is a continuation of the illegal process that started in 2021, says the statement of the State Security Service of Georgia (SSG).

According to the SSG, a hotline has been activated for the cases of illegal so-called borderization, the European Union Monitoring Mission (EUMM) and co-chairs of the Geneva International Discussions are notified.

“All facts of illegal border crossing are discussed at the meetings of the incident prevention and response mechanism, as well as at international discussions in Geneva. Illegal so-called borderization process complicates the daily life of the locals and damages the security environment, the occupation regime is fully responsible for this,” the SSG said.
